Oscar Morales was born in Mexico City in 1986. Mexico is a country that is characterized by having a complex culture, the result of dynamics of elements from different heritages. The cradle where Oscar was born, the Mexican territory, was part of Mesoamerica where the spirits of the Toltecs, the Mixtecs, the Olmecs, the Aztecs impregnated with their myths and ancestral stories the imagination of little Oscar.
As a child he accompanied his mother to the city downtown and returned fascinated by the street artists who sold his art, and spent hours watching them paint live, displaying colors and emotions. These first approaches to the art world were crucial to develop his passion for all expressions of the artistic world.
Still a child, in 1998 he attended his first art classes, manifesting his ability for drawing and painting with acrylic.
In this period he met and let the influence of the great Mexican artists exert its magic on him. When touring with the gaze of the child who feels love for art, the works of Rufino Tamayo, José Clemente Orozco, Diego Rivera, David Alfaro Siqueiros, Saturnino Herrán, his spirit was flooded with murals, nuances, textures, culture and Mexican traditions.
In 2001 he moved to the United States with his family. In this country he attended Manteca High School for two years, where he had the opportunity to paint his first mural, obtaining valuable recognition for it and in turn, winning several youth art competitions.
In 2004 he continued his artistic career at San Joaquín Delta College. In the painting classes he was chosen along with other classmates to make an institutional mural entitled "Building dreams". This second mural also brought with it recognition as an incipient muralist artist.
In the trajectory of this formation he met the artist and teacher Guillermo H. Kelly, who became his reference for his love for oil painting, giving him a range of new expressive possibilities. Together with his teacher and mentor they carried out several commissions for private collections and commercial murals.
Over the years his work was traveling various thematic paths and landscapes, portraits and still lifes were intertwined in a dance of colors, plots, nuances creating their own symbolism.
From its very essence, Oscar transmits in his works the ancestral traditions of pre-Columbian and mestizo culture, in the use of a polychromatic color palette, which is articulated with a multifaceted country, with a pre-Hispanic and revolutionary past, and as an artist, he takes advantage of it to capture a reinterpretation and new aesthetic challenges.
Through these essential concepts of pictorial art, combining colors and textures seeks to transmit in the viewer an aesthetic experience, vibrating with the emotions, ideas and feelings that are manifested in the ways with which we relate to the world.
His works were exhibited in several prestigious galleries and acquired by private collections. He currently participates in mural projects for different entities in the United States.
Oscar Morales nació en la Ciudad de México en 1986.
México es un país que se caracteriza por poseer una cultura compleja, fruto de dinámicas de elementos provenientes de distintas herencias. La cuna donde Oscar nació, el territorio mexicano, formó parte de Mesoamérica donde los espíritus de los toltecas, los mixtecas, los olmecas, los aztecas impregnaron con sus mitos y relatos ancestrales la imaginación del pequeño Oscar.
De niño acompañaba a su madre al centro de la ciudad y regresaba fascinado por los artistas callejeros que vendían su arte, y pasaba horas mirándolos pintar en vivo, desplegando colores y emociones.
Estos primeros acercamientos al mundo del arte, fueron cruciales para desarrollar su pasión hacia todas las expresiones del mundo artístico.
Siendo un niño aún, en 1998 asistió a sus primeras clases de arte, manifestando su habilidad para el dibujo y la pintura con acrílico.
En este período conoció y dejó que la influencia de los grandes artistas mexicanos ejerciera su magia en él. Al recorrer con la mirada del niño que siente amor por el arte, las obras de Rufino Tamayo, José Clemente Orozco, Diego Rivera, David Alfaro Siqueiros, Saturnino Herrán, su espíritu se inundó de murales, matices, texturas, cultura y tradiciones mexicanas.
En el año 2001 se mudó a los Estados Unidos junto a su familia.
En este país asistió durante dos años al Manteca High School, donde tuvo la oportunidad de pintar su primer mural, obteniendo un valioso reconocimiento por ello y a su vez, ganar varios concursos de arte juvenil.
En el año 2004 prosiguió con su carrera artística en el San Joaquín Delta College.
En las clases de pintura fue elegido junto a otros compañeros para realizar un mural institucional titulado “Construyendo los sueños”. Este segundo mural también trajo consigo el reconocimiento como un incipiente artista muralista.
En la trayectoria de esta formación conoció al artista y maestro Guillermo H. Kelly, quien se convirtió en su referente para que naciera su amor por la pintura al óleo, otorgándole un abanico de nuevas posibilidades expresivas.
Junto a su maestro y mentor realizaron varios encargos de colecciones privadas y murales comerciales.
A lo largo de los años su obra fue recorriendo diversos caminos temáticos y los paisajes, retratos y bodegones se entrelazaron en un baile de colores, tramas, matices creando su propio simbolismo.
Desde su esencia misma, Oscar transmite en sus obras las tradiciones ancestrales de la cultura precolombina y mestiza, en el uso de una paleta de color policromática, que se articula con un país polifacético, con un pasado prehispánico y revolucionario, y como artista, lo aprovecha para plasmar una reinterpretación y nuevos retos estéticos.
A través de estos conceptos esenciales del arte pictórico, aunando colores y texturas busca transmitir en el espectador una experiencia estética, vibrando con las emociones, ideas y sentimientos que se manifiestan en las formas con las cuales nos relacionamos con el mundo.
Sus obras fueron expuestas en diversas prestigiosas galerías y adquiridas por colecciones privadas.
Actualmente participa en proyectos de murales para diferentes Entidades de Estados Unidos.
